At Bluefield High School, Dana’s love for science set her apart. She earned national recognition, competing in the International Science and Engineering Fair, where she stood among the brightest young minds in the world. That passion led her to pursue a degree in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she worked full-time as a waitress to support herself through college.
After graduating in 2001, Dana joined a major pharmaceutical company, but her strong moral compass led her to question corporate practices—especially when she learned the company was actively blocking the production of a more affordable generic asthma medication. Having suffered from asthma herself and knowing what it was like to live without health insurance, Dana realized her true calling: advocating for people, not corporations. She left the industry and set her sights on law school.

Dana attended law school with the same tenacity that had defined her life. She excelled as a Law Review member and quickly became known for her exceptional legal writing, strategic thinking, and ability to lead.
Her leadership extends far beyond the classroom. She has served as Secretary of the Dorchester County Bar Association, a Board Member for the Charleston School of Law Alumni Association, and President of the Board for the Center for Heirs Property Preservation. Today, she remains deeply involved in legal advocacy as an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), where she fights for legislative reforms that protect the rights of injury victims, including efforts to end forced arbitration and ensure every individual has access to justice.
